Crete is the largest Greek Island. Its form is quite long and narrow and the landscape is dominated by its mountains, of which the highest is Mount Idi (2.456 m). Agriculture is very important for the island, although it is not very fertile.

Crete is famous for it's ancient Minoan remains, like Knossos. It's landscape is varied, with beautiful beaches, traditional villages and rough tracks for hiking, like the famous Samaria Gorge. We thank for the help, text and photos about Crete www.travel-to-crete.com.
